Each summer, the United States Military Academy offers highly motivated, strongly academic high school juniors a Summer Leaders Seminar.

Air Force Summer Seminar
Summer Seminar at the United States Air Force Academy offers a unique opportunity to get the Academy experience first-hand. Specially designed for high school juniors heading into their senior year, This Summer Seminar allows participants to see a realistic slice of cadet life.

US Coast Guard Summer Seminar
AIM will test and inspire those interested in serving their country and humanity as officers' in the nation's oldest continuous maritime service. In six non-stop days, immerse yourself in Academy tradition and cadet life. The program is intense and rewarding. More importantly, AIM will help you to discover if you possess the mind, body, and character to succeed at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy. We will reimburse the $475 tuition fee after successful completion.

Naval Academy Summer Seminar
The United States Naval Academy Summer Seminar is a fast-paced, six-day experience for high achievers who have completed their junior year in high school. Summer Seminar teaches you about life at the Naval Academy, where academics, athletics, and professional training play equally important roles in developing our nation's leaders. If you think that you may be interested in pursuing an appointment to one of the nation's service academies and serving your country as an officer, you should seriously consider attending the Naval Academy's Summer Seminar.

Tarheel Boys State
Tar Heel Boys' State is a leadership action program. Qualified male North Carolina high school rising seniors take part in a practical government course designed to develop a working knowledge of the structure of the government. It is the aim of the program to impress the young citizens with the fact that the government is just what they make it.
Eligible: 11th graders
Tarheel Girl's State
North Carolina's program is the longest continuously-running Girls State program in the United States. For a week in June, approximately 250 of North Carolina's most promising rising high school senior girls from every part of the state come together to learn about and participate in various parts of government.

General Hugh Shelton Leadership Challenge
The Shelton Leadership Challenge at ECU is a six-day residential experience to help students expand their knowledge and skills of what it takes to be a leader. Students will participate in activities that will help them have a greater understanding for: Personal Leadership Assessment and Interpersonal Dynamics; Role of Values and Ethics in Leadership; Leadership Traits and Approaches; Team building and Empowering others; Civic and social responsibility; and Goal setting.
